what's next

They let me out of the hospital last Thursday. But this morning I woke up again and I just couldn’t catch my breath. The cancer is spreading very quickly. The doctor told me to prepare for the end and so we are. They want me to talk to one more doctor in Denver to see if there would be any hope left for a new treatment but the chance of this would be slim. I have contacted my family and they are heading out to say their goodbyes. This last growth of cancer has been so fast. We had a talk with the kids about what happens next and explained things as much as we can. Please keep them in your prayers as they are going to have a hard time in the near future. -Eric

Eric, thank you for sharing your journey. You're honesty and candidness have been helpful for our family. Although we don't see you, we keep you and your family in our prayers and your words help us know how and what to pray for concerning you and your family. Words are certainly hard to say to you at this time, but we hope you know that our love overflows for you guys and we pray that you will have comfort, strength and angles attending you every hour. I know that you guys are very self sufficient, but please let me know what I/we can do to help. Anything! Groceries, kids, errands, Anything.

Thank you Eric for being you and sharing. You have made a difference in many peoples lives, definitely mine.

Eric,
Your hands are clean and your heart is pure. Indeed, you are returning with honor. The Savior promised that He would not leave us comfortless. Though our hearts are heavy and tears fill our eyes, we are confident that His healing power will rest upon Monica, your children, your parents and family. We love you and are extremely proud of your faith and courage. May God be with us all until we meet again.
Love,
Gordon and Teryl

Eric and Monica,

I have been so touched by your strength to go through this for two years. You have passed the test. They say that there are angels all around you to help you. I pray that your room will over flo with angels we can see and those that some of can't. I pray for save trips for all your familyies coming and going. Hug each other the memory will last and be of such warmth. Love to you and your family. Debbie

Eric,

I'm afraid I don't know what to say in a situation like this, so I'll just free-wheel it.

Over the past 3 years, I've marveled at your positive outlook and refusal to back-down in the face of such terrible obstacles. You've faced this with such courage and determination, it's inspirational.

Best wishes to your and your family, buddy. I'm thinking of you.

Hatch,
This news is tough to take. You've been the best friend a guy could have. You will be greatly missed. We'll do the best we can in this fight until we can meet up with you again on the other side. I am forever grateful for all the times we shared together and look forward to more. I can only hope to do as well as you have done. God speed.
